Credit Cards

Ok you guys, I'll admit it...

I am a HUGE proponent of using credit cards.

I currently have 6 open credit cards, which has increased my credit score by over 150 points and let me travel the world for free.

As long as you spend what you can (and not more), I highly recommend you open a credit card. Ditch the debit card and cash.

There are many advantages to using credit cards to pay for your everyday expenses - I'll list them below:

  1. You build your credit. Opening credit cards and paying them off every month will really boost your credit score. The biggest determining factor of a high credit score is a long history of on-time payments.

  2. You earn rewards. Every dollar you spend on a credit card earns you 1-5% cash back or points. It's free money, and you can use these points to travel for free. Or you can use them as cash!

  3. Sign up bonus. Many credit cards come with lucrative sign-up bonuses. For example, the Chase Sapphire Reserve comes with a 50,000 points bonus if you spend $4,000 within 3 months of account opening. That's $750 to spend on travel! Do this with many cards and you'll never pay for a flight again.

  4. Consumer protection. You're much better protected when you pay using a credit card. Many cards come with additional insurance included, and if you need to dispute a charge, it's easy. If someone steals your card info and buys something, you're also completely safe.

  5. Additional benefits. Many cards come with free travel credits, free airline credit, airport lounge access, concierge service... the list goes on.

Here are my favorite credit cards - I'll give the benefits of each one and why I think it should be in your wallet. If you do decide to get one of these cards through my links, you'll support this blog, so thank you in advance!
